At MILCOM, global military communications professionals face command, control, communications, computing, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) challenges head on. They look at them from every angle and discuss them from end to end – research and development through future needs. The conference allows industry the opportunity to hear and understand the requirements, pace of change and state of play in a variety of C4ISR markets serving the military, federal agencies and multinational entities.

April 10, 2020 -- MILCOM conference deferred to fall of 2021
For more than 35 years the MILCOM conference has served as the pre-eminent forum for sharing research related to the unique challenges of military communications. The contributions from and collaborations across academia, industry, and government have been a hallmark of the conferences since its inception. AFCEA International (AFCEA) and the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) are proud to jointly sponsor this conference and remain strongly committed to the event due to the increasing criticality of communications and networking to future military operations.
The execution of the conference relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to help prepare and review high-quality content. The nature of this material introduces challenges to completing these steps in the remote work environment motivated by COVID-19 in the US, Europe, and the world. In recognition of this fact and to protect the health and well-being of all in the MILCOM community the conference will not take place this year.
The conference will return stronger than ever in the fall of 2021. The MILCOM team is disappointed in the cancellation of this year's event, but is excited to bring some of the new ideas in works for this year's conference to the 2021 program. Examples include the re-introduction of classified discussions to complement the publicly released and restricted access content, a curated selection of topics related to the intelligence community, and cross-program tracks addressing the challenges of adopting commercial technologies like 5G and the proliferated LEO satellite constellations to military operations (these cross-program tracks included synergistic and coordinated key notes, panels, technical papers, and tutorials).
Thank you for your understanding. Best wishes to all, and stay well.
Now in its 38th year, MILCOM continues to be the premier international conference for military communications.
