Profile

Mr. Dodd began his career in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician, Communications (CTO) in 1988. He briefly left the Navy in 1992 and served as a light Infantry scout in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Re-entering the Navy in 1995 in his former career field, he was later re-designated as a Cryptologic Technician, Networks (CTN) in 2005 and then commissioned as a Limited Duty Officer (LDO) at the rank of Ensign in 2006 and served as an Information Warfare Officer (IWO). He served in multiple capacities at Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Maryland before reporting to Fleet Cyber Command/TENTH Fleet as an Assistant Battle Watch Captain (ABWC) and Fleet Readiness Officer. After retiring from the Navy in 2013, Mr. Dodd continued his service to the country by serving as the Operations Officer for the Army’s 01 National Cyber Protection Team. He then accepted a position with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as a Team Lead in the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) Security and Readiness Inspections (DRSI) Directorate in the Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Branch. Mr. Dodd then returned to TENTHFLT to work as an Exercise Planner in the N7 before accepting a position with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Cybersecurity Operations Center as the Incident response lead for the organization.

Mr. Dodd’s current role is as the Chief, Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Branch of the Joint Force Headquarters – Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ-DODIN) Readiness & Security Inspections (DRSI) Directorate. His Active Duty tours of Duty include: USS Normandy (CG-60) (Plank owner), Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA) Northwest, Staff Duty at the Commander, Submarine Force Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC), Afloat Training Group (ATG) Norfolk, USS Bunker Hill (CG-52), Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Maryland, and Fleet Cyber Command/Tenth Fleet.

Mr. Dodd has a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) in Information Systems Management and a Masters of Professional Studies (MPS) from Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in Homeland Security specializing in Information Security and Forensics. He is married with five children and volunteers with the American Legion, as Firefighter with Franklin Fire Company in Chambersburg, PA, and is an Adult leader in the United States Navy Sea Cadet Corps, Pennsylvania Blue Jackets Division.
