David (Dave) B. Bennett is the Director of Operations, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). He provides, coordinates, and synchronizes capabilities and services that are always available, reliable, and secure in support of the DoD Information Network (DoDIN). He is responsible for the delivery and operation of secure world-wide enterprise information technology services enabling the efficient and effective execution of DISA’s global combat support missions.

Mr. Bennett began his career when commissioned as an Armor Officer through the Army R.O.T.C. program at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1977. Over the course of his 30 year military career, he has commanded at all levels from platoon to brigade level. He has served as Project Manager for numerous Army and Joint complex, highly integrated Information Technology Programs.

Mr. Bennett came to DISA in 1998 and has held several leadership positions. In January 2007, he entered the Senior Executive Service at DISA serving as the Deputy Program Executive Officer for Command and Control. Since entering the Senior Executive ranks, Mr. Bennett has served in a variety of key leadership positions within DISA, to include Program Executive Officer GIG Enterprise Services, Acting Component Acquisition Executive, Chief Information Officer, Director Enterprise Information Services and Director Implementation and Sustainment Center. In May 2016 he was given additional responsibility as the Director, Operations Center which combined the Center for Operations and the Implementation and Sustainment Center.

Mr. Bennett has numerous military awards, including the Defense Superior Service medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Legion of Merit. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi in February 1977, a Master’s of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida in 1986, and a Master’s Degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Ft. McNair in 1998.
