Ed Coyle is an Electronics Engineer at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Spectrum Organization (DSO). Ed is responsible for execution of the Spectrum Management Coordination System (SMCS) as part of the Advanced Wireless Services (AWS-3) transition. Selected DoD systems will gain access to the 2025-2110 MHz band through SMCS and operate on a co-primary, non-interference basis with incumbent television broadcast operations.
Prior to federal service, Ed spent 23 years in the telecommunications industry holding various technical positions with Motorola Solutions. During his time at Motorola, Ed served as a Systems Engineer, Team Lead, and Engineering Department Manager for Motorola's Federal Markets Division where he was responsible for deployment of wireless radio systems to Federal and DoD customers worldwide. Ed holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering from Capitol Technology University.
