Profile

Maj Andrew W. Rekieta is Branch Chief, C5 Plans, Exercises, and Engagements at Pacific Air Forces A6, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. He leads a branch of deliberate, contingency, and exercise planners supporting communication planning efforts to PACAF and INDOPACOM. His team supports OPLAN development and execution as well as exercise development for a dozen annual exercises. Additionally, his team coordinates communications personnel taskings across the Indo-Pacific as well as leads Allied and Partner cybersecurity and cyber defense engagements for PACAF across the theater.

Prior to his current position, Major Rekieta was Deputy Branch Chief for Operations and Plans for Joint Task Force - National Capital Region J6, Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington D.C. In this role, he oversaw tactical communication requirements in support of ceremonial and contingency operations throughout the National Capital Region. Additionally, he led contingency and deliberate planning in support of NORTHCOM OPLANs, CONPLANs, National Special Security Events, Department level Continuity of Operations, and Continuity of Government missions.

Major Andrew Rekieta entered the Air Force in May 2015 after commissioning from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Maj Rekieta completed Undergraduate Cyber Training in February 2016. After his initial technical training, Maj Rekieta served in flight, operational, and staff positions at the Squadron, Agency, Joint Task Force, and Major Command Staff levels. He has supported communication operations and planning across every geographic Combatant Command excluding Southern Command.
