Chief Warrant Officer Five (CW5) Wells is assigned as the Senior Technical Advisor to the Director for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). In this role, he advises the DISA Director on all matters relating to the planning, developing, delivering, operating and defending of the global enterprise network infrastructure and services.
CW5 Wells enlisted into the United States Army as a Signal Support Systems Specialist in 1996, serving with 307th Signal Battalion, Camp Carroll, South Korea. He then proceeded to the 366th Armor Battalion, Fort Hood, TX and onto 369th Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, GA where he served as a Drill Sergeant. After completing Warrant Officer Candidate School and the Signal Systems Technician Basic Course in 2003, CW5 Wells was assigned as the Signal Systems Technician, 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, WA. Followed by an assignment as the Signal Systems Technician, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, GA. Next, CW5 Wells served as the Senior Technical Advisor, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Capability Manager Global Network Enterprise, Fort Gordon, GA. Prior to assuming his current position, CW5 Wells served as the Senior Technical Advisor, United States Central Command J6 (USCENTCOM CCJ6), MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL.
CW5 Wells has completed the following military education: Warrant Officer Candidate School, the Signal Corps Warrant Officer Basic and Advance Courses, Airborne School, Drill Sergeant Course, Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education, Signal Warrant Officer Staff Follow-on Course, Warrant Officer Senior Service Education, the Army Capability and Combat Development Course. CW5 Wells attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management and has completed various technical certifications to further his civilian education.
CW5 Wells has been recognized throughout his service with numerous awards including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Joint Meritorious unit award with three oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (2), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (4 stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (5 stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (2 stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Drill Sergeant Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Driver’s Badge. He is also authorized to wear the Signal Corps Regimental Bronze Order of Mercury, Canadian Forces Parachute Wings and Israel Defense Forces Parachute Wings.
