Mr. Eric R. Jackson currently serves as the Infrastructure Executive Directorate's Civilian Deputy. Mr. Jackson started his Government career in June of 2000, working for the NAVY's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) as a Technical Specialist. In this capacity, he was assigned to support DISA as the assistant program manager to the Agency's IDNX Network. He was later assigned to be DISA's Service Manager for the Pacific, responsible for DISN communications spanning the theater. After 6 years supporting PAC, he was then assigned program management duties in Senior Leader Communications and National Leadership Command Capabilities. In this capacity, he served as a branch chief responsible for engineering, implementations, and sustainment of telecom infrastructure, supporting senior level communications. He then worked as a branch chief DISA's Transport Division supporting the life-cycle sustainment of telecommunications infrastructure. His most recent assignment was the division chief for DISA's Implementations and Installation Division responsible for providing request fulfillment, critical circuit provisioning, installation, project control, and task order management activities supporting the Department of Defense Information Networks (DoDIN).
Mr. Jackson served as a reservist in the District of Columbia Air National Guard for 22 years. He spent 14 years as an Air Traffic Controller working traffic at the Martinsburg WV Airport. He then cross trained in a technical control facility to become a telecommunications control specialist which lead to a special duty assignment at DISA as a member of their Joint Web Assessment Cell (JWRAC). Mr. Jackson supported the JWRAC mission until his retirement from the Air National Guard in January of 2006.
He is a native Washingtonian who came to DISA from industry (Amoco Oil Company). He is currently a Maryland resident, who in his free time supports multiple charitable and non-profit initiatives, with hobbies that include motorsports and travel.
