Profile

A native of Long Island, New York, Christopher Gieser has permanently resided in Hawaii since 1990.

He directs the Pacific Fleet C5I modernization, systems requirements, and interoperability. Leads COMPACFLT N6 for all C2/CS matters related to Maritime Operations Center (MOC) operations and support including organization, command relationships, doctrine, publications, OPLANs, communications plans, programming, budgeting, and analysis of C2/CS training and systems operations. Directs support for JMAST, MOC/NETOPS, NCCC, T-JFMCC and operational C4 exercise support. The N6 lead for support to Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) initiatives, MOC communication systems interoperability and integration and Partner Nation/Coalition Communications (ESG and chair of M2I2 Operations Working Group) initiatives. He is the Program Manager for the PACOM External Cooperation Office (ECO - Command Center) in Changi, Singapore. Prior to his current position, as the Pacific Fleet Information Manager (N66) and NMCI Tiger Team lead, he directed the initial NMCI seat rollout for COMPACFLT HQ, the region, and Pacific. After 9/11 he set up the initial information management schema for the PACFLT Command Center (FCC). An Operations Research Analyst in PACFLT N64, he was the lead analyst for the Navy in the Pacific for Wargames and Simulation, focusing on the Navy’s Global Wargame in Newport, R.I. and theater COCOM sponsored exercises as Tandem Thrust (Talisman Sabre), Cobra Gold, Keen Edge, and USFK’s Ulchi Focus Lens, (Ulchi Freedom Guardian) series.

Following retirement from active duty in the Marine Corps at MAFORPAC, Mr. Gieser worked at USPACOM for modeling and simulation analyses for OPLANS, CONPLANS and a multitude of COCOM sponsored exercises and seminars.
