Johnson Wu manages commercial engagements for the Cyber Portfolio here at DIU and serves as the technical advisor to projects inside and outside of the Cyber Portfolio.
Johnson Wu most recently served as VP of Products at Acalvio Technologies, an advanced threat defense company, through the acquisition of Shadow Networks where Johnson served as CEO. Johnson has over 20 years of experience in the networking and security space. He was one of the co-founders of Network Translation Inc (NTI), makers of the PIX firewall. NTI was acquired by Cisco in 1995, where Johnson remained as the Technical Lead for the PIX and Local Director Load Balancer, helping Cisco become a multi-billion dollar player in the security market. Johnson also co-founded Jasomi Networks, where he invented far-end NAT traversal, a controversial technique that removed a key impediment to enterprise deployment of VoIP, and that has since become an industry standard. Jasomi was acquired by Ditech, a leader in the voice communications space. Johnson was the author of 7 granted patents related to Cybersecurity.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
