Michael Bilyeu

Profile

Michael Bilyeu currently serves as the Associate Director for NineTwelve Institute. In this role, he provides oversight to program management, facility management, and partner engagement for NineTwelve; as well as technical expertise in its Innovation Labs. Michael’s current focus is in 5G technology and applications for smart cities, integrated systems, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and transportation. Mr. Bilyeu holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University, where he specialized in propulsion and aerodynamics, minoring in Nuclear Engineering. In previous work, Michael specialized in advanced power and propulsion systems as well as chemical and vibrational nonequilibrium in hypersonic fluid flow. In his current work in 5G, he assisted NTI partners in end-to-end solution development, some of these included the first CBRS private cellular network with integrated Starlink backhaul, image recognition and edge processing leveraging mmWave, and quantum-resilient messaged-based encryption over a 5G network.
