Ben Smith is supervisory information technology specialist with the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division’s Programs, Research, and Standards Unit (PRSU). In this role he has the privilege of managing a team biometric subject matter experts whose primary goal is to advance biometric and identification capabilities of the FBI and its Criminal Justice and National Security partners. To achieve this goal, Ben and his team keep best practices and standards as the cornerstone of everything they do. From managing the FBI’s Certified Products List to test and evaluation of new and emerging technology, their efforts are targeted on advancing tomorrow’s operational capabilities without sacrificing today’s standards of excellence.
