Mr. Jerry Reimers was appointed a Defense Intelligence Senior Leader (DISL) on 2 November 2014. He serves as the Senior Advisor and Intelligence Officer for both the forensics and biometrics portfolios at the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA). He advises on matters concerning the Biometrics and Forensic enterprises; identifies synergies internal to DoD components, the interagency, and Intelligence Community; and he coordinates links between DoD forensic and biometrics exploitation systems and data with the Intelligence Community to support analysis, evaluation and dissemination of identity intelligence.
Mr. Reimers is a biometrics enabled intelligence (BEI) plankowner, having helped craft DoD BEI policies since 2005. He also helped to establish intelligence linkages derived from forensics at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC).
Mr. Reimers is a former Naval Officer, Judge Advocate, and National Security and Intelligence Law Attorney. His prior work experience includes: City Prosecutor/Assistant City Attorney, Saginaw, Michigan; Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Northern District of Florida; multiple Command Judge Advocate positions with the U.S. Navy; Chief Legal Counsel at the U.S. Army's National Ground Intelligence Center; and Deputy Chief of the Defense Intelligence Agency's Identity Intelligence Project Office (DIA I2PO).
He holds an L.L.M. Degree in International Law (with Honors) from Georgetown Law, a Juris Doctorate Degree (with Honors) from the University of Detroit School of Law, and a Bachelor's Degree (with Honors) from the University of Arizona. He is also an Honors graduate of the U.S. Naval Justice School and graduate of the ODNI's Intelligence Community Officer Course.
