Sergeant Major Brian M. Disque entered the United States Army in 1996 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was trained as an Infantryman.

His subsequent positions and duty assignments include: Assistant Gunner and M60 Machine Gunner, Scout Sniper, Team Leader, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry, Schofield Barracks HI; Squad Leader, 2nd Battalion, 187 Infantry, Fort Campbell, KY; Drill Sergeant, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry, Fort Benning, GA; Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry, Fort Polk, LA; Senior Military Instructor, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK; Troop Sergeant Major, B SQDN, Asymmetric Warfare Group, Fort Meade, MD; Command Sergeant Major, 2nd BN, 35th Infantry, Schofield Barracks, HI; Command Sergeant Major, Asymmetric Warfare Group, Fort Meade, MD; and Command Sergeant Major of Area Support Group – Kuwait. His current assignment is the G3/5/7 Sergeant Major for US Army Central. SGM Disque has two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and one deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

SGM Disque’s military education includes all non-commissioned officer education through the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 62), Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Sniper School, Emergency Medical Technician Course, Drill Sergeant Course, and the Asymmetric Warfare Group’s Operational Advisor Course. CSM Disque holds a Masters of Arts in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.

SGM Disque’s awards and decorations include: Legion of Merit with one oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, and the Army Commendation Medal with five oak leaf clusters; He has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and Mexican Special Forces Air Mobile Badge. SGM Disque is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy club and the Order of Saint Maurice.

SGM Disque lives in Annapolis, Md. He has been married to his wife Andrea for over 22 years and together they have two daughters, Carolyn and Lillian.
