Profile

Alex Levesque leads CyberPoint’s NORDIC (Network Operations, Research, and Development Innovation Center), and has over 15 years of experience as an engineer, architect, and consultant for military, government, and industry partners. In addition to leading the CyberPoint CNO Center of Excellence, he works as an applied researcher and offensive capabilities developer.

Mr. Levesque began his career as a signals analyst (1N2) for the USAF, developing new and usual signals associated with technical SIGINT derived from tactical and commercial communication devices. After a special duty assignment tour as a Combat Driver supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, he returned to become the senior signals analyst within his center. Following this, he transitioned into a contractor role performing similar SIGINT technical assignments.

He then transitioned into the cyber career field, through diverse roles as instructor, engineer, and developer. He has recently spent his time specializing in developing zero-day exploit capabilities against tools used by cyber criminals and Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs). In his work with the Maryland Innovation and Security Institute’s DreamPort project, he also designs and supports research projects, training programs, and Red vs Blue style head-to-head capture the flags for the next generation of cyber defenders.
