Carl A. Young is a Director and Senior Solutions Architect in BAE Systems, Inc.’s Integrated Defense Solutions business area. He has nearly 30 years of experience, specializing in cyber, data, and information systems solutions.
Prior to joining BAE Systems, Inc., Carl served in the U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel. He served in numerous roles while in the Army, including as the Army’s Enterprise Architect and Chief Data Strategist for the Army CIO/G6; the Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) lead for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serving in the Joint Staff J5 Warplans; Chief of IT Policy and Enterprise Architect for the Army National Guard; and as a Signal Force Manager for the Army and Army National Guard G3 Force Management directorate. He is joint-qualified as a Signal, Cyberspace Operations, Information Systems, and Force Management officer.
Carl holds a Master of Arts in history from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia; a master of strategic studies from the United States Army War College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and a Chief Information Officer graduate certificate from the National Defense University’s iCollege. He also holds various professional certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Project Management Professional, and Certified Business Continuity Professional.
