Profile

Capt. William R. Buckley III is an active-duty U.S. Army Officer in the Signal Corps. He currently teaches Army ROTC at Georgia Institute of Technology where he is also pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Cybersecurity (Policy Track).

Originally from Foxboro, MA, Buckley earned his commission from Army ROTC in 2012. His alma mater is Providence College in Rhode Island where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

He served his lieutenant time as an Airborne Infantry Officer assigned to 4th Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Airborne) at Joint-Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. There he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, and Company Executive Officer. In 2016, he transitioned to the Signal Corps and was assigned to 192nd Ordnance Battalion (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. There he served as a Company Commander and Battalion Signal Officer.

He is a graduate of U.S. Army: Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Ranger School, Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Infantry Basic Officer Course, Signal Captain’s Career Course, and Common Faculty Development Instructor Course.
