Profile

COL (Retired) Bob Roth is the Director of Business Development for Advanced Technology Leaders, Inc. (ATL) based out of Martinez, Georgia, and manages business development and capture activities across ATL’s portfolio. Bob has worked in learning technology, training and capability development, and Cyber/IT companies since his retirement in 2011, performing functions as Program Manager, Business Unit Manager, Director of Operations (SE), and Director of Business Development, working with government customers within Defense, Homeland Security, Treasury, and the Intelligence communities, as well as several commercial customers.

Bob currently oversees growth work share and market penetration within account portfolios. He reviews program partnering evaluation and selection, and identifies and coordinates follow-on BD opportunities within programs across the spectrum of services. Bob develops business unit strategies for promotional activities, analyzes and explores market trends, supports strategy development, resource planning, and execution of program re-competes. Bob leads and manages capture strategies, planning sessions, and BD activities with line management and coordinates resources for proposal management, proposal color reviews, and proposal submission requirements.

Prior to retirement, Bob served as an Armor & Cavalry officer in the United States Army and commanded at every level up to brigade command. His deployments include three combat tours: Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom I and IV. Bob is a graduate of the Command & General Staff College and the Joint Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, and is a Joint Qualified Officer (JQO). He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Northern Kentucky University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University, and a second master’s degree in Joint Strategic Planning from the Joint Staff College, National Defense University. He is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leaders Executive Course and is working on his PHD. Bob’s military awards include the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star (third award), and the Combat Action Badge, and is the recipient of the Chief of Staff of the Army’s MacArthur Leadership Award.
