SFC Brian Picerno is a 17C senior career manager and serves as an adviser on matters affecting the enlisted 17 CMF. He sits on a panel making decisions affecting enlisted soldiers' ability to join the 17C military occupational specialty (MOS.) SFC Picerno represents the 17C enlisted through soldier and community engagement.
He enlisted in the Army in 2006 and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Upon completion of training, he was awarded the MOS 25B, information system specialist. In 2013, he reclassified to be a cryptologic network warfare specialist 35Q, which would eventually become the MOS 17C cyber operation specialist that we know now today.
SFC Picerno is currently working on his Bachelor’s degree in networking and cybersecurity from UMUC. His military education includes Basic, Advanced, Senior and Master Leader Courses of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System. He is a graduate of the Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention course and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
