Senior Adviser, Cybersecurity Integration and Synchronization Directorate

Profile

Ali Mohammed is a leader in the Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity space. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in the cyber field at several high-profile DoD agencies, most recently as senior adviser in the Cybersecurity Integration and Synchronization (CIS) directorate at Headquarters, Department of the Army, in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6 at the Pentagon.



In this role, Mr. Mohammed is involved in all aspects of information technology (IT) and cybersecurity strategy within the G-6. The directorate is responsible for directly supporting the Army Unified Network Plan (AUNP) by reforming and operationalizing cybersecurity processes and managing risk. Mr. Mohammed was instrumental with the release and implementation of the Army Risk Management Framework.



Other roles he has held include, deputy CIO, Cyber and Operations, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, deputy chief, Certification and Engineering, Defense Security Service, senior information security engineer, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and senior system analyst, Lockheed Martin.



He is a graduate of the National Defense University with a Master of Science in cybersecurity and Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science in computer science.
