Command Sergeant Major Alberto Delgado assumed duties as the 17th Command Sergeant Major of U.S. Army Materiel Command July 23, 2020. As AMC’s Command Sergeant Major, Delgado serves as the Commanding General’s personal adviser on all enlisted-related matters, primarily focused on the quality of life for Soldiers, Civilians and Families across the command as well as the training of the Noncommissioned Officer Corps and Soldiers.
CSM Delgado, a New York City native, enlisted in the New York Army National Guard Aug. 18, 1987, attending One Station Unit Training as a Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. CSM Delgado entered active duty January 19, 1989, and reclassified as a 76C – PLL Tamm’s clerk in Feburary
1993.
His previous assignments include: A 3/17th FA, Ansbach, Germany; Svs 3/17th FA, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; 706th Main Support Battalion, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; 46th Support Battalion, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Fort Lee, Virginia; U.S. Army Office of Support, Washington D.C.; NATO Communications Logistics Depot, Naples, Italy; CSM, U.S. Army Garrison Mannheim, Germany; CSM, 10th Special Forces Group (A) Group Support Battalion; Special Operations Joint Task Force-Afghanistan/NATO Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan J4 SGM; CSM, 82nd Sustainment Brigade; CSM, CENTCOM Materiel Recovery Element Brigade; G3/G4 Army Materiel Command SGM; CSM, 21st Theater Sustainment Command; and CSM, United States Army North
(Fifth Army).
CSM Delgado deployed in support of Operation DESERT SHIELD/STORM, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM,
Operation NEW DAWN, Operation ODYSSEY DAWN and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
His military schools and education include Airborne School, Air Assault School, USASOC Jumpmaster Course, Joint Personnel Recovery Agency Course, and all phases of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Management from National-Louis University, and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University.
