Sam Blaney is currently leading a team of cybersecurity professionals as the VP, Cyberspace Operations Training at By Light Professional IT Services. Sam serves as the face of By Light cyberspace operations training and represents customer requirements to leadership. He also monitors trainingrelated efforts and provides regular advice on current efforts and new opportunities to further the quality and quantity of By Light’s training services and products.

Sam has 30 plus years of IT/Cybersecurity experience in the US Military, Federal & State Governments, Telecommunications/IT and Financial sectors. Sam is a retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) who served from 1982-91 and again from 2006-2013 with multiple tours of duty and deployments supporting Freedom and America’s interests at home and abroad.

Sam’s background in operations, leadership, and training at AT&T, Truist Financial, The State of Georgia and The National Guard have given him a broad background in supporting the cybersecurity of various types of critical infrastructures. His education includes, a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from American Military University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Barry University Miami Florida.

He also holds several Cybersecurity professional certifications including Eight Global Information Assurance Certifications (GAIC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and CompTIA Security Plus.

Sam his wife Lori Beth, sons S. Jacob (US Army Specialist 4th class Blaney currently deployed) and Shane reside in McDonough Georgia, where they are very active in the community and support a very special non-profit organization Rachels Gift named for his late daughter Rachel.
