Brigadier General Guy M. Jones commissioned into the Army as an Infantry officer upon graduation from Texas A&M in 1994. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Advanced Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies, Senior Service College Fellowship at George Mason University, and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.
Brigadier General Jones has led at every echelon from platoon through Deputy Division Command. His deployment history includes: Deputy Secretary to the General Staff, 82d Airborne Division, OIF 03-04, Chief, Future Plans and Deputy CJ5, Combined Joint Task Force-82, OEF 07, Operations Officer, 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, OEF 07-08, Operations Officer, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, OEF 09-10, Commander, 2d Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division
and Task Force 2 Fury, OEF 10, Commander, 2d Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division and Task Force 2 Fury, OEF 12, His most recent deployment to Afghanistan was as the Commander, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, and Deputy Commander for Train, Advise, Assist, Command-East, as part of Operation Freedom Sentinel.
Following command, Brigadier General Jones served as the Assistant Chief of Staff G3/5/7, I Corps and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Brigadier General Jones went on to become Commander, Mission Command Training Program, Mission Command Center of Excellence at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He then served as the Deputy Commander (Support), 2nd Infantry Division (Combined), Eighth Army, Republic of Korea. Prior to assuming his current assignment at FCC, he served as the Deputy Commanding General (Maneuver), 2nd Infantry Division (Combined), Eighth Army, Republic of Korea.
