Dr. Gregory C. Wagner is the Director of DISA’s Defense Spectrum Organization. He provides executive leadership and oversight to DoD’s center of excellence for electromagnetic spectrum strategic planning, engineering, and operations. He leads a diverse team of professionals that provides policy development and implementation, electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) analyses, capability development, modeling and simulation, and acquisition and operations support. He is responsible for delivering strategic planning, enterprise capabilities, architectures, and technical analyses that transform the Department’s legacy spectrum management processes. DSO supports the Secretary of Defense, the DoD CIO, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commanders, and DoD Components in anticipating and solving complex multidimensional spectrum access and spectrum operations challenges so that DOD continues to be the most lethal fighting force across all warfighting domains.
Until his appointment as the Director for DSO, Dr. Wagner served as a branch chief and division chief with DSO’s strategic planning division.
Prior to joining DISA, Dr. Wagner was Network Operations Chief for the Army’s Project Manager Warfighter Information Network – Tactical under Program Executive Office (PEO) Command, Control, and Communications – Tactical (C3T), where he was responsible for the design, development, and deployment of cyber, spectrum, and network management tools throughout the tactical Army.
Dr. Wagner and his wife Kim have been married for 30 years. They have four children ages 26 to 20, and reside in Edgewater, MD. His hobbies include listening to and playing music, gardening, and hiking.
