Profile

Rear Adm. Kathleen Creighton is a native of Ridgefield, Connecticut. She is a 1988 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps program. She graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1997 with a Master of Science in Information Technology Management.
She has served in information dominance billets at all levels, afloat and ashore, with multiple command and officer in charge assignments. Creighton’s shore assignments include Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic as fleet telecommunications operations center watch officer; operations management officer and officer-in-charge, Naval Telecommunications Center Breezy Point; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Europe Central as plans and requirements department head; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Europe Central, Detachment London, as officer-in-charge; Joint Staff, directorate for Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems (J6), serving on the director’s action group; Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) N2/N6 as chief of staff; Task Force Cyber Awakening; and director of Command, Control, Communications and Cyber, U.S. Pacific Command.
Fleet assignments included flag communications officer to the Commander, Carrier Strike Group 2 embarked aboard USS John F. Kennedy and USS Harry S. Truman; assistant chief of staff for C4 to the Commander, Carrier Strike Group 12 embarked aboard USS Enterprise where she completed two U.S. 5th fleet deployments supporting Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom; and N6/Deputy Maritime Operations Center director to Fleet Cyber Command/Commander U.S. 10th Fleet.
She commanded both Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Sicily and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Bahrain. Additionally, she served as deputy commander, Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network. She led the command and control of the Department of Defense information network (DODIN) operations and defensive cyberspace operations internal defense measures.
In September 2019, she assumed duties as Navy Cyber Security division director, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Her current assignment is director, Warfare Integration Directorate, N2/N6I, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
Her personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal (two awards), Legion of Merit (three awards), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (four awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards).
