Profile

Upon completion of the Signal Officer Basic Course, she Colonel Straub was assigned to the 124th Signal Battalion, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas where she served in the 124th Signal Battalion, and the 1-44 Air Defense Artillery Battalion holding positions as platoon leader, Battalion S1 and Battalion S6. After completing the Signal Officer Advanced Course, COL Straub was stationed in Germany where she served as the 41st Field Artillery Brigade S6 and commanded Charlie Company, 440th Signal Battalion, 22nd Signal Brigade. After company command, COL Straub, moved to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida and was assigned to the Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE). While at JCSE, she served as the 2nd Squadron operations officer, a J3 plans officer, and as the Deputy J3/Chief of Plans. During her tenure, she deployed in support of the Joint Special Operations Task Forces – North and Arabian Peninsula during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). After completion of the Air Force Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, COL Straub returned to Fort Hood, Texas and immediately deployed in support of OIF 05-07 as the 3rd Signal Brigade Operations Officer. Her next position was Battalion S-3 of the 57th Signal Battalion where she deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Next, COL Straub was assigned as the executive officer to the Commanding General, Network and Enterprise Command (NETCOM) and as a G3 plans officer at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. COL Straub was then reassigned back to Fort Hood, Texas where she served as the III Corps G6 plans officer and Battalion Commander of the 57th Expeditionary Signal Battalion (ESB). She deployed her battalion back to Kandahar Afghanistan in support of OEF. She was assigned to Fort McNair, Washington, DC and attended the National Defense University. She is currently assigned as the Chief, Defensive Cyber Operations at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
