Melanie Best joined DISA in January 2007 after receiving her Masters of Arts in Human Resource Development at Bowie State University. Her first position was as a recent graduate working in the students program as a Human Resource Specialist. Over the last 15 years Melanie has held varies lead HR positions within DISA, but in 2019 she has given the opportunity to become the program manager of the Next level leaders program. Melanie, has a passion for the student programs and sees the program as an integral part of DISA’s workforce. Her goal is to provide program participates with the advantages needed to propel their career, and provide the agency with a pipeline of high caliber intern and recent graduates. Melanie leads a team of 4 HR specialist who are responsible for recruiting, supporting recruitment events and all other HR activities related to the Next level Leaders Program.
