Chief Warrant Officer McCarty is a native of Chardon, OH. He enlisted in the Navy in August of 2002 as a Cryptologic Technician Communications (CTO).
His enlisted duty stations include Naval Security Group Detachment Seoul Korea, Naval Security Group Activity Rota Spain, Naval Information Operations Command Georgia, U.S. European Command Element SHAPE, USS Carr FFG-52, USS Porter DDG-78, and Fleet Cyber Command. His enlisted qualifications include Naval Aircrewman, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist.
Warrant McCarty commissioned in May 2017, and reported onboard USS Essex LHD-2, where he served as the Communications Officer, and qualified as an Information Warfare Officer. He reported to Joint Interoperability Test Command in September 2019, where he currently serves as Chief, High Frequency Waveform Standards Conformance and Interoperability Testing.
Warrant McCarty has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, and multiple other campaigns. His awards include three Air Medals, the Joint Commendation Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals, two Joint Service Achievement Medals, Five Navy Achievement Medals, Army Achievement Medal, and multiple campaign and unit awards.
