Brig. Gen. Darrin P. Leleux serves as the Deputy Director for the Secretary of Defense’s Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Cross Functional Team, Pentagon, Arlington, Va. The team is tasked with taking bold action across the Department to regain U.S. dominance in the electromagnetic spectrum. He is responsible for developing requirements and plans for evaluating, recommending and implementing improvements to Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations across the Department. General Leleux is also the Deputy Director for Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations and Space Requirements, Joint Staff J8, Pentagon, Arlington, Va.

General Leleux was commissioned in 1989 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He is also a graduate of Rice University and holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering. After receiving his commission, he served in multiple space operations assignments including a one-year remote assignment to Thule, Greenland. He joined the Texas Air National Guard in 1999 and served in a variety of key positions at the squadron, state, and national level, including helping to standup the National Guard’s Program and Budget Division at the Pentagon. General Leleux deployed four times in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
