Marcus Anderson

Profile

Mr. Anderson is a Senior Information Technology Specialist working as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead within the Requirements and Analysis Office and he also provides matrixed support to the Office of Global Public Safety Communications Program Office as the Wireless Lead. His previous assignments with DISA include International Portfolio Manager, Agency Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Case Manager and 11 years as the U.S. Representative / Head of Delegation to Command & Control Interoperability Boards (CCIBs) conducted with the Combatant Commands and 28 partner nations worldwide.

He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Communications with a minor in Political Science. He obtained an MBA in Information Technology, from American Military University in 2010. He completed 54 credits of Doctoral Studies in cybersecurity at Capitol Technical University in 2016. He is a retired U.S Army Signal Corps officer and spent fifteen years assigned overseas working with partner nations to develop interoperable communications during peace and war. He has served in tactical, strategic, operational, conventional, and special operations army and joint duty assignments. He has obtained various Security Assistance / Security Cooperation certifications, Defense Language Institute (DLI) Thai Linguist certification and he speaks Spanish.

In 2004 he was the Joint U.S. Military Advisory Group Thailand C5 Officer and coordinated the communications response to the tsunami. In 1997, Mr. Anderson was one of the original coordinators of the U.S. Army South’s biannual Latin American Communications Conference, conducted with Caribbean, Central and South American partners. From 1993-1995 he was a staff officer in the Republic of Korea working combined communications interoperability supporting the Combined Unconventional Warfare Task Force (CUWTF). During Desert Storm he was the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) Headquarters Signal Detachment Commander supporting coalition operations in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait.

From 2006-2007, Mr. Anderson was a C4ISR Senior Analyst and Project Manager in support of the Program Manager, Special Projects, United States Special Operations Command. From 2005-2006, he was the Director of Operations for Worldwide Network Services LLC and oversaw the activities of 100 Communications Technicians from 15 different nations working in Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
