Defense Information System Agency

Profile

Christopher A. Gray is the Chief, Defense Information Contracting Organization (DITCO) – National Capital Region (NCR). He leads an organization of approximately 56 contracting professionals responsible for the procurement of Information Technology (IT) and cyber services in support of various DISA and Department of Defense mission partners with an overall contract portfolio exceeding $20 billion.

Chris entered into government service in 2007, when he was hired as a Contract Specialist by DITCO-NCR under the Federal Career Internship Program as a GS-1102-07. He continually ascended the ranks within DITCO-NCR and in 2013, he was selected as the Branch Chief of the Enterprise Contracting Branch (now the Joint Enterprise Services Contracting Branch (PL62)) where he led an 18-person team in the procurement of the Information Technology capabilities in support of our mission partners. From 2014 to 2015, Chris was entrusted as the Acting Chief of the Contracting Office (CoCO) for DITCO-NCR, while retaining his duties as the PL62 Branch Chief. At the conclusion of 2015, Chris was selected as the CoCO and has maintained that post ever since.

Prior to entering government service, Chris was a General Manager for Chick-fil-A for 11 years, which he often credits with equipping him with the leadership and customer service skills necessary for success in DITCO.

Chris was born in Westminster, MD, and he has been a life-long Maryland resident. He attended Towson University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Legal Studies in 2006. He is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and he is Level III certified in the Contracting career field and in Cyber Procurement.

The role that Chris is most proud of is not that of CoCO, or civil servant, but rather being a husband and father. He and his wife, Judy, of 12 years have four children, Ava (15), Braedon (10), Brooklyn (7) and Savannah (4). Chris is an avid Raven’s fan and season ticket holder. The Gray family currently reside in Calvert County, MD.
