  • HOLLYWOOD, Maryland – (August 02, 2022) – Parraid, LLC, a small products-oriented business, wholly devoted to design, manufacturing, sales, and support of telemetry data systems and tactically oriented mission-critical communications solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a Navy Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract through the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division. This award will assist Parraid’s efforts to design and build a Secure Linux Power and Data Hub. The system known as Outside with Linux (OWL) will simultaneously provide data and power connections between tactical radios, peripheral devices, software applications, and modern commercial off the shelf edge computing devices. Parraid’s novel concept combines into a single rugged integrated package multiple functions currently requiring many separate devices and technologies. The system supports all the dismounted users’ tactical tasks, reducing end user workloads, and improving situational awareness on the edge.

John Parris, Parraid’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, noted, “Parraid is excited to offer the low SWaP OWL concept.  It is a commercially viable solution addressing technology gaps associated with the use of modern consumer computing devices requiring connectivity to legacy communications infrastructures. This Phase II investment will provide the Joint force with greater joint interoperability meeting the strategic goals of the Navy, Marine Corps and Joint Forces supporting expeditionary operations.”

Parris added: “Best of all, the hardware and software developed under this SBIR will provide an interoperability layer that can reduce integration costs for many Navy programs and Joint interoperability with Joint and Coalition partners supporting National Defense Strategic goals.”

  • HOLLYWOOD, Maryland – (April 5, 2022) –Parraid, LLC, a leading-edge technology innovator that develops next-generation aerospace and ground tactical applications for secure communications, has announced the launch of the Vector Iridium Data Link (VIDL), the first affordable military-grade tactical secure connectivity solution for emergency and disaster responders in need of secure voice and data communications where cellular coverage is unavailable. VIDL allows users to maintain situational awareness (SA) through text messaging, map icons, and event reporting with an intuitive on-screen operations management application.

Designed for Disaster Response, Emergency First Responders, Border Security, Maritime, Public Safety, Wildland Fire, Military, and Off-Grid Recreation, VIDL delivers no-fail real-time SA. Parraid’s Vector Iridium Data Link (VIDL) is a portable ruggedized, lightweight command and control system using the Iridium satellite communications network. It operates as Push-to-Talk (PTT) with a handset similar to the one used with common tactical radios and shares data with Android and Microsoft Windows-based computing systems. VIDL deploys quickly due to its simple system architecture. Unlike other solutions, it eliminates the need for expensive, complex legacy systems that most emergency response agencies can’t afford.

VIDL is powered by the Iridium Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation that provides worldwide voice and data communication from hand-held satellite phones and transceiver units. By leveraging Iridium Satellite Push-to-Talk technology, VIDL provides SA, data, and voice in a single product with continuous Global & Polar Region Coverage with short transmission paths, strong signals, and low latency. Vector Iridium Data Link (VIDL) allows you to always be connected wherever you go.

John Parris, Parraid’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, noted, “Parraid is excited to offer emergency responders the secure communications solution that they deserve in times of crisis. VIDL’s trusted reliability, interoperability, and durability are powered by the best customer support team in the industry. In addition, it will provide real-time situational awareness that is critical for any agency with a mission to monitor logistics, location, and security of personnel. VIDL is a reliable and accessible satellite link that gives you that edge.”

Parris added: “Best of all, VIDL is affordable, making it possible for most emergency response agencies to capitalize on our innovation, ingenuity, and practical approach to solving a real problem: the need to stay connected when cellular coverage isn’t available. I am especially proud of our innovative team of world-class engineers that allowed us to bring this to market with reliability and engineering excellence second to none.”

  • NRG5
Parraid is pleased to announce the arrival of the new fifth generation Network Radio Gateway and Client software, NRG5. Parraid’ s Network Radio Gateway (NRG™) product line remains an industry leader among Everything-over-IP (EoIP) communication products....

  • The NRG5 is packed with a host of new features and functionalities that include a completely redesigned, intuitive and easy-to-use, touch-based user interface. Enhanced radio interoperability for remote voice, data, programming, and control for new software defined radios as well as legacy radios systems. Existing customers should upgrade your equipment’s software to NRG5 today.

The NRG offers maximum communications flexibility and is scalable from small command posts to full enterprise integration. Each NRG in the network can stand alone to support one team or be meshed with other NRGs in the network to share radio assets up to the enterprise level. With a decentralized and meshed server-client architecture, the NRG is fault tolerant with no one central point of failure when meshed with other NRGs to form an NRG Domain.

  • EOIP / ROIP
The Network Radio Gateway (NRG) connects disparate radio networks for interoperability and scalability enabling users secure access to critical radio voice and data in a single touch-based client interface....

  • The Network Radio Gateway is manufactured in two form factors; Rack Mount  and a smaller ruggedized deployable version.

The Rack Mount models have significant processing power that can support up to 400 conference endpoints. All these models are made to fit into standard 19” equipment racks using only 1U of space. Versions include high reliability latching connections for 4, 8, and 12 radios plus AC or DC power input options. The system software and conference configurations are stored on an easily removable Solid-State Drive (SSD).

The DS-04 models’ compact size, rugged fan-less enclosure, and low DC power requirements make them ideal for use in the field supporting two to four connected radios and up to 50 endpoints (any combination of users and radios). They can be quickly set up at communication posts, mounted in vehicles, or carried in packs and both feature an easily removable memory card for the operating system. Parraid engineers can customize this offering in a deployable turnkey mobile configuration.

  • Vector Iridium Data Link (VIDL)
VIDL is a portable Iridium command, control, and communications system that provides voice, data, and Position Location Information (PLI) services to geographically dispersed users utilizing the Iridium* Push-To-Talk (PTT) satellite network....

  • The VIDL paired with a rugged computing platform comprises the Vector Tracking and Communications System (V-TACS). As a complete solution, V-TACS allows users to maintain real time situational awareness with a common operating picture and the ability to transmit voice, map icons, areas of interest, targets, and locations with the intuitive on-screen operations management application or the Android Tactical Awareness Kit (ATAK) associated architectures.

Fast to deploy and simple to use, V-TACS is a terrific solution for Public Safety, Emergency First Responders, or any organization requiring command and control applications beyond line-of-site and in environments where no other means of communications are available. United States Government architectures are supported separately.
