Profile

Mrs. Chung is currently dual-hatted as the Technical Advisor to DISA PAC Commander and Division Chief, Plans and Programs, Defense Information Systems Agency Pacific (DISA PAC) as of March 2021. She directs all efforts to ensure and enhance operational readiness of DISA enterprise infrastructure and services ISO current and future operations of the Pacific Command Warfighters through Contingency and Exercise Planning, technical integration of new emerging capabilities, mission assurance and critical infrastructure protection program (MA/C IP), quality assurance program and knowledge management.

She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. She was selected as a Naval Research Laboratory Edison Fellowship candidate and completed a Master of Science program in electronics engineering with computer science as a minor from George Washington University. She started a Doctor of Philosophy program in Computer Science at Tulane University before joining DISA. She has 2 US Patents based on her research project at Naval Research Laboratory prior to joining DISA.

Mrs. Chung served as the Technical Director and Deputy Commander of the DISA PAC Korea Field Office for 15 years (2000 – 2015), where she provided technical and organizational leadership to the field office as well as the USFK customers pertaining to DISN services, including transport, enterprise services C4I systems, and information assurance services. She completed a Chief Information Officer program at National Defense University (NDU). She completed Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) through George Washington University sponsored by DISA. She has CISSP and chartered Cyber Pilot project with NSA Chief Scientist in 2010 – 2013 in Korea Theater of Operation.

In March 2015, she joined the DISA-Pacific team at Ford Island as Chief of Infrastructure and Services Division. The Division is composed of military, DoD civilians, and contractor personnel responsible for resilient and available DISA’s state-of-the-art DISN and enterprise services.

She is married to Sung Young (John). They have two children, Yujin (29) and Joshua (26). They are a proud grandparent to SooBin (Yujin and HyunKoo) with a second grand-daughter on the way in August 2021.
