AFCEA International and AFCEA Hawaii are committed to holding a rewarding TechNet Indo-Pacific conference at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 11-13, 2022. Our Health and Safety Plan will continue to evolve as we follow guidance from Federal, State, and Local authorities, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and work closely with the Hilton Hawaiian Village and other vendors to create a safer experience for participants.   Travel to Hawaii

Hawaii has announced they will end the Safe Travels Hawaii program on March 25. Starting on March 26, visitors to Hawaii will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test to be allowed to bypass mandatory quarantine upon arrival in Hawaii.

  What can I expect at the venue?

The Hilton Hawaiian Village participates in the Hilton CleanStay program. Click here for more information. If you are staying on property, note that the hotel housekeeping staff will service your room every fifth day of your stay. For additional servicing, please dial ext 44 when on-property or text 808-425-9010 the day prior to your desire service.

  Are there restrictions on the number of people in the exhibit hall, in session rooms or at networking events?

The Hilton Hawaiian Village does not have distancing requirements or capacity limits in place currently. Physical distancing is highly encouraged. Seating will be spaced out at all activities, where possible.

  Should participants wear masks?

Hawaii has announced they will end the indoor mask mandate on March 25. However, the Hawaii Department of Health and CDC recommend wearing a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status and AFCEA strongly encourages conference participants to do so.   Is proof of vaccination required?

Yes. Proof of full vaccination and a valid photo ID must be verified to attend the in-person event at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Therefore, each attendee must pick up their own badge. Badges cannot be distributed without this documentation.

  What qualifies as full vaccination?

Individuals must have received the second dose of a two-dose vaccine series (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca-SK Bio) or a single-dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson/Janssen at least two weeks prior to the event. Only the vaccines noted above, which have been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), shall be acceptable to meet the vaccination requirement.

  How will proof of vaccination be verified?

Participants will show proof of vaccination onsite during the normal badge pick-up process. Please have your government issued photo ID and physical copy of your vaccine card ready. A picture on your mobile device or proof of vaccination via an app is also acceptable.

  Can someone else pick-up my badge?

No, participants must show proof of vaccination and a government issued photo ID to pick-up a conference badge. A picture on your mobile device or proof of vaccination via an app is also acceptable.

  Are there any exceptions?

Participants who are not able to be fully vaccinated for valid reasons (such as medical or religious exemptions) may present proof of a negative COVID-19 test in lieu of proof of full vaccination. Photo ID must also be presented.

Test results must be presented at an assisted registration counter prior to entry into the conference. Testing must be conducted no earlier than:

  • 48 hours before event start time for a PCR test
  • 24 hours before event start time for an antigen test

AFCEA recommends that participants use a testing partner recognized by Safe Travels Hawaii, in case the state of Hawaii or City & County of Honolulu reimplements restrictions after March 25. A printed document from the test provider or laboratory, or an electronic test result displayed on a phone or tablet, is required.

The document must include:

  • Full name
  • Type of test performed (PCR or antigen)
  • Date of test
  • Negative test result

Please note: Self-administered or “home” tests without independent third-party verification are NOT acceptable. We will not accept home kit test cards.
