Profile

Dr. Vasu D. Chakravarthy is a Principal Electronics Engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratories, Sensors Directorate, Electronic Warfare Techniques Development and Analysis Branch, and also serves as an adjunct faculty at Wright State University, Dayton OH. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Wright State University. Dr. Chakravarthy has been with AFRL since 1996 with an experience background in RF data links, Digital Communication, Software GPS receivers, Statistical Signal Processing, Dynamic Spectrum Access technologies and Cognitive EW. Since 2000 Dr. Chakravarthy’s focus has been in DSA technologies, Cognitive EW, and EMBM. During this time Dr. Chakravarthy has done pioneering research in laying the foundation for Cognitive EW fundamental research, Dynamic Spectrum Environment Emulator for creating complex environment, Software Architecture for Intelligent Joining (SAIJ) to integrate 3rd party algorithms and Software Defined agile/adaptive threat surrogate to generate futuristic complex emitter. Dr. Chakravarthy has two patents, written three book chapters and published over 60 papers in peer reviewed conference and journal proceeding.
