Kenyon M. Gill III, Colonel USMC Retired, graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1984 and was assigned to Comm Co, 1st Marine Amphibious Brigade serving as the Radio Platoon Commander and Co Operation's Officer. In Jan 1988, he was transferred to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines as the Battalion Communication officer and platoon commander.

As a Captain, he was transferred to Camp Lejeune as the Comm Spt Platoon Commander, Operations Officer, and XO of Support Co, 8th Comm Battalion. In Dec 1989, he was transferred to 6th Marine Expeditionary Brigade with Marine Forces Panama.

In Jan 1991, he deployed as part of Operation DESERT SHIELD, as the XO, Spt Co 8th Comm Bn,. Upon his return, he assumed command of H & S Co, 8th Comm Bn.

In Jun 1992, Col Gill transferred to Quantico, VA as a student at the Command and Control Systems Course and remained for an Instructor tour. Following, Major Gill was selected to attend the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College.

In 1997, he was assigned to MWCS-18 as the Squadron's Op's Officer. During Cobra Gold 98, was selected to be the aide-de-camp for CG, III MEF and was later transferred to 3d Marine Division as the CO, Division Comm Co. In Jun 2000, Col. Gill transferred to the Joint Staff J-6. After the 9/11 attacks, he served concurrently with Joint Staff and OSD Homeland Security.

In 2002, LtCol Gill assumed command of Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28 and was later deployed as the 2MAW Fwd G-6 in Jan 2005 for OIF-04-06 and in 2006 was a Distinguished Graduate from the Naval War College in Newport, RI.

In 2006, Colonel Gill assumed command of Marine Air Control Group 28, and led the Group in combat, OIF 06-08, from Jan 2007 to Jan 2008. Upon completion of command, Col. Gill attended the Joint Forces Staff College, and then as the 2D MAW G-3. In July, 2009 Col. Gill assumed duty as the U.S. Marine Forces Command, G-6, and retired from that billet on 1 Nov 2012. Mr. Gill was hired by MARFORCOM/FMF LANT.
