Mark Hutchins is the director of the Protected Communication Systems (PCS) product line within Integrated Communication Systems (ICS), a mission area within Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS).

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems is a leading provider of integrated sensor, communication and electronic warfare systems giving military forces accurate and timely actionable information for the network-centric battlefield. With a workforce of 13,000 and 2017 sales of $6.4 billion, SAS is headquartered in McKinney, Texas, with operations across the U.S. and internationally.

The Raytheon Protected Communication Systems product line has more than 30 years expertise in protected SATCOM and multi-level security, and has developed, manufactured and fielded every Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) terminal in use today. PCS products include AEHF & Protected Tactical SATCOM (PTS) terminals, AEHF & X-band submarine masts, Digital Red Switch Networks (DRSN), Presidential and Nation Voice Conferencing (PNVC) systems, Multi-Level Security (MLS) voice and video conferencing, and aircraft mission computers. PCS has facilities in Marlborough MA and Largo FL.

Hutchins joined Raytheon from BAE Systems in March 2018. He has more than 20 years’ experience leading programs, product development, and major captures in the ground, maritime, airborne, space, and man-portable domains for Army, Air Force, Navy and classified customers. Products and capabilities developed under his leadership include SIGINT and EO/IR ISR systems, man-portable targeting systems, threat warning and countermeasure systems, and IR imaging subsystems. Prior to program leadership, Hutchins led a foundry that produced advanced IR focal planes.

Hutchins holds a Ph.D. in solid state chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Sc.B. in inorganic chemistry from Brown University. He and his wife Elizabeth live in Nashua NH and have two grown sons.
