Brigadier General (Retired- U.S. Army) Peter L. Jones was commissioned in the Infantry following graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1985.
During his 32 years of service, he served in numerous staff and leadership positions both in the US, Korea, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition to deploying twice to Kosovo in support of NATO peacekeeping operations, he has four combat deployments serving in Iraq three times as a Battalion & then a Brigade commander as well as a strategic planner in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Prior to retiring, BG Jones served as the U.S. Army Infantry School Commandant and 56th Chief of Infantry. During his two-year tenure, he oversaw the integration and training of female Soldiers and officers into the Infantry force. Additionally, he led the U.S. Army's study of Russia's use of disruptive technologies and hybrid operations in the Ukraine and Syria as the Director, Russian New Generation Warfare Study.
Following retirement, BG Jones continues to consult on emerging threats and future warfighting concepts. Additionally, he heads the non-profit National Infantry Museum Foundation- America's Best Free Museum according to USA Today and one of the Top 12 Military Museums worldwide as rated by CNN Travel.
In addition to a BS degree from West Point, BG Jones holds three Masters degrees including one in National Security Studies from Georgetown University.
