Technical Panel: Enterprise Enabled SATCOM Resiliency

In the era of network centric warfare, highly resilient communications capacity is required in an environment of increasing space and cyber threats. MILSATCOM system resiliency is enabled by technology, system architecture improvements, and enhanced operations. Convergence of mission needs and these rapidly evolving capabilities and threats stresses our current operations constructs and demands revolutionary approaches to address the challenge.  Combatant commanders will soon need to know what the probability of success is for all aspects of a given mission or campaign.  Current efforts to move DoD satcom into the 3 and 5G age may provide solutions to this real-time observe–orient–decide–act problem.  The Air Force is leading these efforts by developing flexible architectures, standards, and algorithms to automate the current serial-thinking-process.  Connecting resiliency based requirements to realistic solutions in support of near-term threats and constraints is the goal.
