Profile

Scott Jones is the ICAM Modernization Branch Chief, Information Technology, Internal Revenue Service. The mission of this newly formed branch is to "Review, Revise, and Renovate Identity, Credentialing, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions to provide a continually improving taxpayer experience, ensure robust digital identity defenses, and lead with a focus on industry best practices and advanced technical approaches."

Previously, Mr. Jones functioned as the Authentication Branch Chief. In this role he oversaw the design, development and implementation of the Secure Access Digital Identity (SADI) program, introducing the first federated credential model to the IRS.

Prior to joining the Internal Revenue Service in March 2017, Mr. Jones served in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve in roles varying from aircraft maintenance to developing computer based training, retiring after a culmination of 30 years’ service.
