Profile
Stergios Papadakis is the Chief Scientist of the Experimental and Computational Physics Group at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Over 20 years, his research and development efforts have focused on a variety of sensors and sensor systems. This has included such systems as point and stand-off sensors for materials related to chemical and biological weapons, as well as space-based sensors for planetary and space science. For the last seven years he has focused on aspects of biometric identification systems, primarily as the project manager of the test and evaluation team for the IARPA ODIN program, which developed dramatically improved presentation attack detection technologies.
