Pam Dixon is the founder and executive director of the World Privacy Forum, a respected public interest research group and NGO. An author and researcher, she has written influential studies in the area of privacy, identity, health, biometrics, AI, and other topics. Dixon has worked extensively on privacy and data governance across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, India, Africa, Asia, and the EU. Her most recent work has focused on privacy and data governance in complex data ecosystems, including issues relating to AI, digital health and governance, and identity systems. This work has also intersected with Dixon’s ongoing work in low and middle income countries. Dixon has been invited to present her work on AI and complex data ecosystems to the National Academies of Science and the Royal Academies of Science in 2018 and most recently, she presented her newest work to the National Academies of Science in October 2020.
