Profile
Alice J. O’Toole received the Ph.D. degrees in experimental psychology from Brown University, Providence, RI, USA. She is a Professor with the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, University of Texas at Dallas and currently holds the Aage and Margareta Moller Endowed Chair. Following Postdoctoral work at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Télécommunications, Paris, France, she came to the University of Texas at Dallas, where she established a laboratory for visual perception and face/object recognition experiments. Over the last 30 years, she has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts spanning the fields of psychology, neuroscience, and computational vision. Her research has been funded by the NIJ, NIST, TSWG, DARPA, IARPA, NEI, and by an award from an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Psychology and the Journal of Vision. She is a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science.
