Profile

Mr. Jason King currently serves as the Director for the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at Fort Benning and Fort Gordon, Georgia. In this capacity, he is responsible for planning, managing, and executing a comprehensive contracting and acquisition program in support of a wide range of U.S. Army organizations, including the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE), U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC) – Logistics Readiness Center, U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) – U.S. Army Garrison Fort Benning and Fort Gordon, Georgia, U.S. Army Futures Command – Futures Capabilities Command (FCC), and all associated tenant commands located at both installations.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. King served as the Mission Support Division Chief for MICC-Fort Gordon from July 2019 to October 2022, overseeing the acquisition needs of the CCoE. He also served as the Acting Director for MICC–Fort Lee from October 2021 to February 2022. From October 2018 to August 2019, he was the Small Business Deputy Director for the Office of Small Business Programs at the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
From October 2011 to September 2018, Mr. King held multiple leadership roles at MICC-Fort Gordon, including Senior Contract Specialist, Contracting Officer, and Division Chief for both the Installation Support and Mission Support Divisions. Earlier in his career, he served as a Contract Specialist with several organizations across the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.
Mr. King holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Fort Valley State University and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster University. He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps, is Level III certified in Contracting, and has maintained a Contracting Officer’s Warrant since 2013. His exemplary service has been recognized with the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service in both 2014 and 2023.
