Profile

Chief Warrant Officer John Mosqueda hails from Dallas, Texas, and began his Army career on November 18, 2008, as an Information Technology Specialist. After completing Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), he was assigned to the 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team at Fort Campbell, KY, where he served as the Command Post Node (CPN) Team Chief and Battalion S6 Communications Chief.

In 2014, he was selected to serve at the White House Communications Agency, where he supported multiple agencies as a Senior Team Lead, Wideband Radio Technician, and Network Administrator. During this time, he directly enabled strategic-level communications in support of Presidential and Vice-Presidential missions worldwide. In 2017, he transitioned to the Army’s emerging cyber domain as one of the first 25D Cyber Network Defenders, assigned to the U.S. Army Cyber Command’s Regional Cyber Center – Europe. In 2020, he was appointed as a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army’s 255S Cyberspace Defense Technician specialty, where he currently serves as a Cyber Planner for the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC).

John Mosqueda holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, and an Associate of Arts in General Studies, all from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He has passed the cybersecurity industry’s respected Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification exams.

His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award (2nd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2), NATO Medal, Air Assault Badge, the Presidential Service Badge, and the honorary Bronze Order of Mercury awarded by the Signal Corps Regimental Association.

John has been married to Candace Mosqueda for over a decade. Together, they have three daughters: Sawyer, Dean, and Jericho.
