Lorri Janssen-Anessi is a distinguished cybersecurity leader with over 25 years of experience across public and private sectors. As Director of External Cyber Assessments at BlueVoyant, she leverages her deep expertise in national security, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence to deliver comprehensive analyses for Supply Chain Defense clients, including critical support to Mergers & Acquisitions, and investment clients.
Lorri's career began in the US Air Force as a technical language analyst for the National Security Agency (NSA), focusing on high-priority counter-terrorism missions. Transitioning into cybersecurity, she held key roles at the NSA, including positions at the National Cyber Threat Operations Center , National Threat Opertaions Center, and the Counter-terrorism Mission Management Center. Her leadership was evident in projects addressing emerging technology impacts on national security, Artificial Intelligence to support machine translation, and joint initiatives against key terrorist groups.
Her leadership roles have included Deputy Director of Engagements and Policy at NSA-Georgia, Chief of Environmental Analysis, and Technical Lead for Tailored Mitigations at NSA's Cybersecurity Directorate. Her responsibilities involved managing teams, driving analysis and technology development, and fostering public-private partnerships to tackle cybersecurity challenges. Lorri is particularly noted for her extensive knowledge in machine learning and artificial intelligence, especially in machine language modeling.
Lorri holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master’s Certificate in Cyber Warfare. Her educational background and professional experience establish her as a formidable force in cybersecurity. She is globally recognized for her expertise, with numerous publications on Emerging Vulnerabilities, Risk, Supply Chain Defense, Compliance, and Artificial Intelligence.
