Brigadier General Michael R. Kaloostian serves as the Director of the Command and Control (C2) Cross-Functional Team within Army Futures Command.

Kaloostian is responsible for the continuous improvement of network transport, command, control, communications and intelligence to enable mission command. This will enhance the Army’s lethality, mobility, and survivability in large-scale combat and multi-domain operations as part of the Joint Force. Kaloostian received his commission in the United States Army Signal Corps through the Old Dominion University’s ROTC program in 1998. His 27-year career spans a variety of Army Forces and Special Operations Command assignments. Kaloostian most recently served as the Director of Networks & Cyber Security, Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2), Army Futures Command. Other assignments include Deputy G6 for US Army Europe and Africa, and Commander, 2d Theater Signal Brigade, Wiesbaden, Germany; J6 Director of Communications for Special Operations Command – Central; Commander, 51st Expeditionary Signal Battalion; and the Signal Squadron Commander for a Special Mission Unit (USASOC).

Kaloostian is an AY 2020 graduate of the Air War College at Maxwell AFB, AL. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), the Master Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the German and Irish Parachutist Badges, and four Overseas Service Bars.

Kaloostian possesses a Master of Strategic Studies from Air University, a Master of Science in International Relations from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. His military training and education include the Air War College, Command and General Staff College, Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) Course, Combat Skills Course, Jumpmaster Course, Air Assault Course, Combined Armed Services Staff School, Signal Captains Career Course, Signal Officer Basic Course, and Airborne School.
