Colonel Adam Dykstra serves as the Director of the Cyber Battle Lab, Fort Gordon, Ga. His civilian education includes a BS in Political Science from Western Illinois University, an MS in Information Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and MS in Strategic Studies from the United States Air War College.
COL Dykstra joined the Illinois Army National Guard in 1999 as an 11B Infantryman. In August 2002, he received his active-duty commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Western Illinois University. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, FA53 - Information Systems Managers Course, the Command and General Staff Officer Course, and the United States Air War College.
His previous assignments include G 3/5/7 of the Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Eisenhower; Commander, 1st Cyber Battalion, US Army Cyber Protection Brigade; Brigade Operations Officer, US Army Cyber Protection Brigade; Aide-de-camp to the Deputy Commander, US Cyber Command; Battalion Executive Officer, 2nd Cyber Battalion of the Cyber Protection Brigade; Team Lead, 600 Cyber Protection Team (US SOUTHCOM); Cyber Planner, US Army Cyber Command; OIC Forward, NSA – Tactical Platforms Division (Afghanistan); Project Officer, NSA - National Cryptographic Solutions Management Office; Military Analyst (Tactical), Information Assurance Division, Army CIO/G6; Battalion S6, 1-8 IN, 3BCT, 4th ID (Iraq), and Infantry Platoon Leader, 1-8 IN, 3BCT, 4th ID (Iraq).
