Profile

Lieutenant Colonel Clifton Hubbert began his military career in August 2002 when he enlisted as a Signal Support Specialist. He served with New York Army National Guard before pursuing a commission through the Rochester Institute of Technology Army ROTC program. From there, he received his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and commission as a Signal Officer branch detailed to Armor in 2005. He is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic Course, Scout Leaders Course, Signal Captain Career Course, Command and General Staff College, Brigade S6 Course, and Basic Airborne Course.

LTC Hubbert was assigned to 3d Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia in 2006-2012. During his tenure, he served as the Assistant S-1, a Scout Platoon Leader for A Troop in 3rd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, Squadron Civil Military Affairs Officer, Squadron S-6, Commander of Bravo Company 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, and finally as the Brigade Deputy S-6. He deployed with 3HBCT to Iraq in both 2007 and 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom V and VII. He completed his time as a Captain at 704th MI BDE, Fort Meade, Maryland; there he served as an Information Assurance Certification Manager for the National Security Agency.

Upon completing Command and General Staff College and a master’s degree in Information Technology Management, he served as the Brigade S-6 for 16th Military Police Brigade followed by a one-year tour at 160th Signal Brigade, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait as the Brigade NETOPS OIC. He was then assigned to 25th Infantry Division as the NETOPS OIC and Deputy G-6 followed by USARPAC as the Deputy Operations Chief. He was subsequently assigned to the Joint Staff J-6 as an Action Officer in the Operation, Plans, and Exercise Division. He is currently assigned to 4th Infantry Division as the G-6.

His awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, two Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award, two Meritorious Unit Citations, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with three bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and Parachute Badge.

He is married to Stephen Hubbert, a prior Air Force Military Police Office originally from Tennessee.
