Mrs. Romero is from Las Cruces, New Mexico. She graduated from New Mexico State University (NMSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. She then went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Information Systems Engineering from Western International University and is a graduate of both the Harvard Senior Executive Fellows and the Federal Executive Institute (FEI) Leadership for a Democratic Society Program’s. In addition, to her formal education, she holds several certifications in her career field to include Comp TIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Red Hat Linux Administration, and two Level III Defense Acquisition University certifications in Test and Evaluation and Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering.
Mrs. Romero serves as the Director to the Army Computing and Data Centers Directorate (ACDC) and is responsible for assessing current capabilities, determining functional requirements, and identifying resource shortfalls for the 10 NETCOM owned Army Enterprise Data Centers (AEDC). In her role, Mr. Romero aligns resources to implement NETCOM’s portion of the DoD Data Center Reference Architecture (DCRA) to support the modernization and standardization for each Data Center’s infrastructure and operations. Additionally, the ACDC team supports the synchronization of application migration within the NETCOM owned AEDCs and provides integrated management and visibility on Data Center capacity in support of the Army Data Center Consolidation Plan (ADCCP) and the Army Data Plan. ACDC oversees all planning and implementation of SharePoint File Shares, Records Management, and E-Mail Capstone efforts. Finally, her team is responsible for providing technical strategic information and requirements development supporting the deployment of the first ever on-premises Army Edge Computing Capability (AECC) as part of digital transformation efforts, inclusive of foundational services consolidation between NETCOM and the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency. Ms. Romero has been supporting NETCOM and the Department of Defense for over 26 years providing continuity for the organization and incoming leadership through several assignments.
Mrs. Romero currently resides in Sierra Vista, AZ with her husband Philip. Her daughter Reina is currently enrolled at NMSU presently studying Cyber Security and will graduate in December of 2025.
