Profile

Robert D. Braun serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the XVIII Airborne Corps. Prior to assuming his duties as the senior technology advisor to the Corps, Mr. Braun served as the Senior Director of Technology with Augustine Consulting Incorporated (ACI). He also served as the Deputy Chief Engineer and Lead Software Engineer for Product Manager (PdM) Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS). During his tenure with ACI, his contributions were critical to their recognition by Inc.com as one the 5000 fastest growing companies in America in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

As the Chief Technology Officer for the XVIII Airborne Corps, he works with a diverse group of stakeholders across the Corps, Army, and DoD to improve Corps digital acumen and adaptation of modern technologies focused on warfighting transformation.

Mr. Braun’s other assignments include Business Group Director, Engineering Services with Augustine Consulting, Incorporated and Nett Warrior Futures Initiatives Lead with PdM Soldier Maneuver Sensors (SMS). In his military career Mr. Braun served as the Deputy Director J6 Development - Transmissions Branch at the Joint Special Operations Command, Senior Technical Advisor at the 75th Ranger Regiment, Senior Technical Advisor at the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), and Operations Officer at the Supreme Allied Commander – Europe/United States European Command (SACUER/USEUCOM) Commander’s communications team.

While serving on active duty in the United States Army, Mr. Braun completed several deployments supporting both peace keeping and combat operations. His deployments include Operation Stabilization Forces 9 (SFOR9) – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, and Operation Inherent Resolve. Mr. Braun’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, the Army Parachutist Badge, the Combat Action Badge, and the Ranger Tab. He was recognized as the Special Operations Command Communicator of the Year in 2015 and 2018.

Mr. Braun holds a Master of Business Administration in IT Management from Western Governor’s University, a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Technology Management from Excelsior College, and an Associate of Science in Network Administration from Keiser University.

He is married to Patricia Braun, they have two daughters: Danielle and Maddisyn.
